Funny Bird Radio

Brand Identity Project

Funny Bird Radio carried a beloved name but an identity that no longer fit. The goal was a full visual refresh — stripping back the old mark and rebuilding it as a confident, timeless logo rooted in retro Americana.

Client: Emil Peredo

Project Overview

Funny Bird Radio is a local news station based in the Philippines. The existing identity had served the station for years but no longer reflected the direction the client wanted to take his brand.

The rebrand strips away the noise and rebuilds the mark from the ground up — drawing on retro Americana badge design to create something that feels confident, warm, and built to last.

Role: Brand identity, logo design, colour & type system, mockup production.
Tools: Affinity Designer, Affinity Photo, Affinity Publisher.
Deliverables: Logo system, colour palette, typography system, social media & merch mockups.
Client: Emil Peredo — local news station owner, Philippines.

The result helped Emil land a reporting role at the station. A brand that works.

01 — Logo Development

Starting from the original mark, each iteration refined the identity — testing legibility, colour, and personality until the final badge felt timeless and intentional. The small details matter: the bird's head replaces the dot on the "i" in Bird.

02 — Colour Palette & Typography

The palette draws on warm browns, bold orange, and a pop of teal — colours that feel vintage without feeling dated. The typography pairs a strong display face with clean body text, keeping the brand readable across all sizes.

03 — Mockups

The identity was applied across merchandise and social media to show how the brand lives beyond the logo. From embroidered merch to Instagram campaign posts, the Funny Bird mark holds up confidently at every scale.
